We’re hard at work, but this post is all about play! We’ve taken advantage of the last few beautiful days in Michigan to take a nice hike, drink some local beer, and see some fall colors! We hiked some of the epic Lake Superior shoreline on a wild, windy day. Last year we saw this by boat, so we’re comparing notes and trying to decide which is the best way to see Pictured Rocks! There’s no doubt about it, this is one of the best hidden gems in Michigan!
We’ve been chilling in Northern Michigan for the past month, taking some day-trips around the state. Mostly we’re getting caught up and prepping the VW bus for vanlife.
This post bounces between SC, FL and NC for a while before we finally make our way up to Michigan for the summer! Try to keep up with all our moves as we wrap things up with the boat and eventually pack up everything we own into our truck! As always, it’s a wild ride but it’s worth the trip!

We thought we knew what we wanted, and we thought we knew exactly what we would do when we got back to Florida. Then COVID-19 turned the world upside down. We’re now making things up as we go along, but we’ve got some big changes in the works!
Our visas have expired and we’re Florida bound. However, as we approach international waters we hear the Bahamian Defense Force is not letting boats leave the Bimini harbor. Do we stay here as illegal aliens? Or make a run for it as international fugitives!?
We spent a couple nights at Shroud Cay, but we made the most of our time by exploring several mangrove canals and seeing lots of sea turtles! The views were incredible, I’d count this as one of the prettiest places we’ve been, but of course it is – it’s in the Land and Sea Park!
I’m really excited to share this blog post. We finally made it to the aquarium! It was everything. No snorkeling in my life will ever compare. Plus, a wild encounter with a barracuda! And then we explored Rachel’s Bubbles, a natural “bubble bath” rock formation that is absolutely gorgeous!
