We’re wrapping up life in the boatyard, getting on the last coat of wax, getting the saildrives put back together, and putting bottom paint on the last few spots on the hull.
After some setbacks, we apply a couple layers of bottom paint and even get a bright new boot stripe!
We make a plan and then…scrap it. Several times. Finally, the weather cooperates and we begin painting! But then we have another setback…
When we hauled out of the water, we found a hole in the boat below the waterline! This is VERY BAD. Luckily, it’s an easy fix (although there are a lot of steps) and I like working with epoxy!

We’ve been living that boat yard life lately, and let me tell you – it is not easy! I’m pretty shocked at how meager the facilities are here. You wouldn’t believe what we have to do to get drinking water or showers.
