If everything goes according to plan, this should be our last passage on this boat! We experience our worst storm ever while at the dock, which roughs up our nerves a little bit but we’re stubborn. We push through those feelings and hop into the Gulf Stream up to Charleston! And you’ll never guess what we see along the way!

We spent a couple nights at Shroud Cay, but we made the most of our time by exploring several mangrove canals and seeing lots of sea turtles! The views were incredible, I’d count this as one of the prettiest places we’ve been, but of course it is – it’s in the Land and Sea Park!
We explored Staniel Cay more fully, including another round of snorkeling at Thunderball Grotto! We saw more and more nurse sharks, until finally we saw a literal pile of them. A PILE! I know you don’t believe me, so you’ll have to see the photos!
Our stop in Black Point was mainly about fixing the dinghy, but we ran into so many friends here as well! Unfortunately, this is the last time we can be so cavalier about hanging out with people, we’re starting to distance ourselves in anticipation of arriving back in Florida.
As soon as we leave Georgetown, the land of easy problem solving, we start having issues with our dinghy motor. We persevere because we’re so excited to explore Darby Castle, ruins that were previously owned by a suspected Nazi sympathizer during WWII. This is the creepiest blog post I’ve ever written, we had fun exploring the ruins but I’ve never been so happy to get back to the dinghy!
We skipped a lot of the Exumas to get to Georgetown for the regatta. We spent regatta week attending events and meeting lots of new people! We had a lot of fun there, but we also had a lot of bad weather while we were there. How do we feel about Georgetown? Read today’s post and find out!
