Getting the CRBA and US Passport

Now that we have the Mexican birth certificate, we can start the next step of the process. In this post we detail our experience getting the Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA) and US Passport. It was nice to finally have a project in our native language, and all things considered, this went smoothly. Catalina State Park was a breath of fresh air after all the parking-lot style RV parks we’ve been in. Insanely gorgeous landscape, hiking trails all around, and of course there’s a national park nearby as well! We kept extending our stay because we loved this park – and the epic scenery – so much.

We spent an entire month in Kanab and we still haven’t seen all the things we hoped to see. However, we made a solid effort! In our final days here, we visited the sand caves, the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary Loop, Skutumpah Road, a slot canyon and more!

Zion Again and Again

We did a second tour of Zion National Park to catch all the things we missed the first time around. What a beautiful, jaw-dropping scene! Late in the month they opened up the scenic drive to regular traffic, and we just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to drive it ourselves. This makes three visits to Zion, what an epic experience!

We had a wonderful day of exploring Horseshoe Bend, the Glen Canyon Dam, Lake Powell, and finally a hike out to see the toadstool hoodoos. Despite the chill in the air and the few hours of daylight, we’re making the most of our time here before the cold chases us south!
