We spent a couple nights at Shroud Cay, but we made the most of our time by exploring several mangrove canals and seeing lots of sea turtles! The views were incredible, I’d count this as one of the prettiest places we’ve been, but of course it is – it’s in the Land and Sea Park!

I’m really excited to share this blog post. We finally made it to the aquarium! It was everything. No snorkeling in my life will ever compare. Plus, a wild encounter with a barracuda! And then we explored Rachel’s Bubbles, a natural “bubble bath” rock formation that is absolutely gorgeous!

We explored Staniel Cay more fully, including another round of snorkeling at Thunderball Grotto! We saw more and more nurse sharks, until finally we saw a literal pile of them. A PILE! I know you don’t believe me, so you’ll have to see the photos!

As soon as we leave Georgetown, the land of easy problem solving, we start having issues with our dinghy motor. We persevere because we’re so excited to explore Darby Castle, ruins that were previously owned by a suspected Nazi sympathizer during WWII. This is the creepiest blog post I’ve ever written, we had fun exploring the ruins but I’ve never been so happy to get back to the dinghy!

Thunderball Grotto

Thunderball Grotto

The weather forces us to change our plans a few times, but we make the most of it by hitting up a popular snorkel destination, Thunderball Grotto. It’s everything the guidebooks say and more! We saw a huge variety of fish, we snorkeled in the cavern, and we finished off a big day by watching the grotto’s namesake James Bond film!
