February Recap
We tried to keep ourselves occupied as we got buried in snow. Between baking and even a few outdoor excursions, we made it through February and now spring is right around the corner!

It was a quiet month for us, with a couple hikes a little bit of exploring. For the most part we’re hibernating while we wait for spring to return!
If there’s one thing that defined our December, it’s being outside. It seems a little insane, given our distaste for everything cold weather, but it’s the only way we can socialize right now! And let’s face it: we’re outdoor people! I can’t live without that fresh air and sunshine.
We’re taking a travel hiatus as COVID cases spike out of control. That doesn’t mean we’re sitting still! We explored everything from the coast to the city this month, running into big waves, snakes, and scenic spots!
We’ve had some major hurdles with traveling by VW bus, especially during a pandemic. We’re flipping our plans upside down for now! In the meantime, we enjoyed our best nights of camping yet, free campgrounds with amazing views and the most beautiful full moon I’ve ever seen!
We joined up with Route 66 and have started playing a fun game of i-spy, trying to find the road signs and make all the right turns. We’re stopping at all the photo ops we can, and I’m surprised at how much fun it’s been!
We tie up some loose ends and make our last visits with friends, and then it’s us and the open road! First stop, a state park with amazing hiking trails. We hiked until our knees gave out at Turkey Run State Park!
In order to make bus life more sustainable, we had to make some upgrades. Check out the beautiful new cabinets we built, plus learn all about our power upgrades!
We’ve officially hit the road and…the road has officially hit back. This post ends on a sour note as we sustain a little damage to our front end. Bus life!
We’re hard at work, but this post is all about play! We’ve taken advantage of the last few beautiful days in Michigan to take a nice hike, drink some local beer, and see some fall colors! The fall foliage is in full swing here, and I’m using my drone to prove it! Check out the beautiful scenery here in Northern Michigan and let me know what you think!
We hiked some of the epic Lake Superior shoreline on a wild, windy day. Last year we saw this by boat, so we’re comparing notes and trying to decide which is the best way to see Pictured Rocks! There’s no doubt about it, this is one of the best hidden gems in Michigan!
